Full job description

We currently have a Part time vacancy for a Traffic Warden.

The Role is located in Dun Laoghaire (and surrounding areas) and is for 24 hours per week.

The Shift pattern will be variable between Monday to Saturday. Evening work is not available in this role.

The role involves patrolling assigned beats and enforcing the parking byelaws / Road Traffic Act in the Dun Laoghaire/Ratdown County Council area. This is not an office-based position and requires outdoor work in addition to administration duties.

Duties will include:

  • Patrol of areas and enforcement of Road Traffic Act
  • Issuing of parking fine notices to illegally parked vehicles
  • Interacting with members of the public in relation to enforcement and general queries on the street
  • Court appearances when required
  • Reporting of all accidents and incidents should they occur
  • Escalating issues to management as appropriate
  • Administration duties
  • Understanding/general knowledge of the rules of the road and the parking regulations.

Personal specification:

  • Previous experience in Customer Service roles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ideally have good computer skills
  • Must be accurate with good attention to detail
  • A full Irish driving licence with no more than 6 points is desirable

Pay: €15.15 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 per week
