Accounts Payable Trainee
Full-Time | Office-Based | Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Trainee to join our finance team at our Dunshaughlin office. This is a full-time, office-based opportunity, ideal for someone looking to begin or develop a career in finance and accounting.

As an Accounts Payable Trainee, you will receive on-the-job training and support while assisting with the day-to-day accounts payable function. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you will gain valuable practical experience and develop the skills needed for a successful career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
  • Learn to match purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier invoices.
  • Support supplier statement reconciliations and assist in resolving account discrepancies.
  • Help prepare supplier payment runs under supervision.
  • Respond to supplier queries professionally and escalate where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and electronic filing systems.
  • Assist with month-end accounts payable tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and internal controls.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider finance team.
  • Liaise with colleagues across departments to resolve invoice and payment queries.

Skills & Experience

  • An interest in developing a career in finance or accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Previous office administration experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • A relevant accounting qualification (or currently studying, e.g. Accounting Technician or ATI) would be an advantage but is not required.
