Women’s Support Coordinator (Project Worker) - Permanent Contract
Are you interested in an exciting new role supporting women experiencing homelessness and helping to improve health and housing outcomes?
Cork Simon Community stands in solidarity with men and women experiencing homelessness in Cork, offering essential housing and support as they work toward independent living. We are motivated by a deep commitment to social justice and are dedicated to creating a society free from homelessness.
Cork Simon Community provides emergency accommodation and support services to both women and men at our Andersons Quay location. Within Andersons Quay, Mill House is a low threshold STA (Supported Temporary accommodation) service providing accommodation for 7 women experiencing homelessness.
As a member of the Anderson Quay staffing team, the Women’s Support Coordinator role will play a pivotal role in two key areas in supporting women that experience homelessness.
- The Women’s Support Coordinator role will provide one to one key working and case management supports to women residing in Mill House STA and will also work in collaboration with other Key Workers in the Emergency based services, to provide an appropriate level of support to women accessing services in any part of Andersons Quay.
- The Women’s Support Coordinator role will also improve and develop the provision of services to women across Cork Simon’s services, through consultation and collaboration with service participant and colleague groups, advocacy for the needs of women in homeless services, and implementation of agreed actions. This will be achieved by developing subject-matter expertise and by having a role in championing the voices and needs of women within our services.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
At Cork Simon Community, we value our employees and offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- Meaningful Work: Make a direct impact by improving and developing services for women experiencing homelessness.
- Professional Development: Ongoing supervision, training, and implementation of an Individual Learning Plan.
- Well-being Programme: Supports promoting staff wellbeing and resilience.
- Private Pension Plan: Plan confidently for your future for permanent staff.
- Annual Leave: 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata).
- Team Work: Work with colleagues across the organisation and externally to shape the role.
Your Role as Women’s Support Coordinator
The Women’s Support Coordinator role is an exciting new post and would suit someone with a desire to work with women experiencing homelessness to improve health and housing outcomes.
The successful candidate will be required to be proactive and creative in supporting the unique, diverse and sometimes challenging needs of women experiencing homelessness. Patience, empathy and understanding are key attributes. Under the guidance of a line manager, the role will also require an ability to work on one’s initiative, networking with other organisations and stakeholders in developing subject-matter expertise on women in homeless services.
The successful candidate will be given a full induction and orientation to the role. They will also be supported with ongoing professional development and training in developing subject matter knowledge and skill base expertise.

- Advocate on behalf of service participants where appropriate.
Service Development & Consultation

- Facilitate women’s consultation forums and activities to strengthen participation and feedback.
- Work with colleagues to identify service gaps and contribute to the implementation of improvements to better meet the needs of women in emergency accommodation.
Administration & Teamwork
- Maintain accurate, professional and up-to-date records (PASS and InForm) and contribute to reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Emergency and Housing Services.
