Donegal Centre for Independent Living (DCIL) is seeking applications to establish a panel of Educational Support Workers for the commencement of the new academic term at ATU Donegal.
Successful applicants will be placed on a panel from which Educational Support Workers will be appointed as required throughout the academic year.
The Role
Educational Support Workers provide practical educational assistance to students with disabilities, enabling them to participate fully in their studies.
Duties may include:
- Note-taking during lectures.
- Reading and proofreading academic work.
- Assisting with mobility around the campus.
- Providing other educational supports as required by individual students.
Position Details
- Contract: Fixed term for the duration of the academic year.
- Hours of work will be determined by the student's course timetable.
- Monday to Friday working week.
- Location: In person, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
- Expected start date: 14 September 2026.
- Rate of Pay: €16.50 per hour.
About You
Applicants should have:
- A positive attitude and a respectful approach to supporting individuals with disabilities.
- A third-level qualification or equivalent.
- A willingness to complete Garda Vetting before commencing employment (this is a mandatory requirement).
· Desirable: Previous experience supporting people with disabilities or other individuals with additional support needs.
