Full job description
Who is Murphy:
Murphy is a leading international engineering and construction company. We specialise in a variety of sectors including transport and infrastructure, water & wastewater, energy and industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Install, route and secure electrical power, control and instrumentation cabling in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Fabricate, install and maintain cable containment systems, including tray, ladder, trunking and conduit systems.
- Perform glanding, termination and connection of power, control and instrumentation cables.
- Conduct electrical testing, inspection and fault-finding activities to ensure system integrity and compliance.
- Participate in the commissioning and start-up of electrical systems and equipment.
- Commission and troubleshoot instrumentation, PLC-controlled systems and associated equipment.
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across industrial facilities and company-operated sites.
- Work safely within hazardous and controlled environments, including ATEX zoned areas.
- Undertake electrical works across a variety of sectors, including Gas, Water, Wastewater, Renewable Energy and Industrial projects.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant safety regulations, quality standards and company procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
- 1-3 years' post-apprenticeship experience (or recently qualified electricians with relevant industrial experience will also be considered).
- Experience working within industrial, utilities, manufacturing, water/wastewater, gas, energy or renewable sectors is desirable.
- Familiarity with electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities.
