Full job description
THE OPPORTUNITY
Regulatory and compliance-driven change is the most demanding type of IT delivery: the obligations are externally fixed, the timelines are non-negotiable, and the legacy systems they must change are often poorly documented and highly interconnected. As a Systems Analyst on the EMEA Change Team, you are the person who makes that tractable — translating regulatory obligations into structured, precise requirements that architects and delivery teams can act on.
You will own the analysis function across assigned programmes, working with compliance, legal, business, and technical stakeholders to produce requirements that are complete, unambiguous, and traceable back to the obligation that created them. You will navigate multi-country complexity, identify cross-system dependencies, and ensure that nothing falls through the gap between what a regulation requires and what the system delivers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Regulatory & Compliance Analysis
- Analyse regulatory and compliance obligations — interpreting legislation, regulatory guidance, and internal compliance requirements and translating them into structured IT change requirements
- Identify the full scope of impact across the application estate: which systems are affected, which data flows are in scope, which processes must change
- Distinguish between what a regulation mandates and what is an implementation choice — keeping scope bounded to what is required
- Flag newly identified regulatory obligations as high-priority findings and ensure they receive legal or compliance review before scope is finalised
- Maintain a clear register of regulatory obligations, the requirements they drive, and their traceability through delivery
Requirements & Structured Analysis
- Lead structured discovery sessions with compliance, legal, business, and technical stakeholders — translating intent into unambiguous functional requirements
- Manage requirements formally — distinguishing confirmed requirements, provisional requirements, and open questions at all times
- Log every decision (verbal, written, or inferred) in a structured decision register; nothing left informal
- Identify and maintain scope boundaries; escalate scope additions rather than absorbing them into delivery
- Author acceptance criteria in a testable format, ensuring requirements are verifiable without interpretation
Legacy System & Impact Assessment
- Analyse existing system documentation — runbooks, interface documents, functional specifications, and security controls — to establish current-state baselines for change impact
- Identify integration and dependency risks: changes to one system that have downstream effects on others, including cross-programme dependencies
- Document gaps in existing system documentation as findings in their own right — absence of evidence is evidence of risk
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes across multiple country instances of the same application, identifying where divergence between instances creates additional complexity
- Support migration and decommissioning planning by providing structured analysis of what a system does, what depends on it, and what must be preserved or replaced
Cross-Country & Multi-Programme Coordination
- Manage analysis across multiple concurrent regulatory programmes, prioritising and sequencing work with the delivery manager
- Coordinate requirements across EMEA country teams — identifying where a single regulatory obligation has different implementation implications in different jurisdictions
- Maintain awareness of cross-programme dependencies and escalate conflicts or sequencing risks to the delivery manager before they affect delivery
- Produce clear, well-structured documentation suitable for review by non-technical compliance and legal stakeholders as well as delivery teams
AI-Assisted Analysis
- Use AI tooling to accelerate document analysis, gap assessments, and specification drafting — applying judgement to review, validate, and correct AI-generated outputs before they are used
- Contribute to the team’s AI-assisted analysis capability — identifying where tooling can reduce manual effort and sharing effective approaches with colleagues
Collaboration
- Partner with architects on technical impact assessments and integration design — providing the requirements context they need to make sound architectural decisions
- Collaborate with delivery managers on programme planning — providing effort estimates, dependency maps, and risk flags that inform delivery schedules
- Work with QA and testing teams to ensure requirements are complete enough to produce meaningful test cases, and that acceptance criteria are directly testable
- Engage directly with compliance, legal, and business stakeholders to validate requirements before delivery begins — owning the sign-off cycle
