About the role
We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to provide strategic and operational oversight across our Limerick site and support UK & Ireland field operations. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with regulatory, corporate, and ISO standards while driving a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.
You will partner with business leaders to align EHS priorities with operational goals, lead risk management, incident investigations, and training initiatives, and act as a key liaison with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience in multi-site EHS management within a regulated environment, strong knowledge of Irish and UK legislation, and the ability to influence, lead change, and embed EHS excellence across the organisation.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) at the Limerick facility and provide EHS support to the UK & Ireland field organisations.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory, corporate and ISO management system requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and culture.
- Partner with business leaders to align EHS priorities with operational and commercial objectives.
- Act as a key interface with regulatory bodies, external stakeholders, and internal leadership teams.
- Develop, implement and maintain EHS policies, programs and management systems across all assigned sites/geographies.
- Monitor and interpret changes in legislation and ensure timely implementation of required actions.
- Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and implementation of effective control measures.
- Drive incident reporting culture, lead investigations, and ensure robust root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Deliver EHS training and awareness programs to enhance organisational capability and promote a positive safety culture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed EHS into operational processes and decision-making.
- Establish and track EHS objectives, KPIs and action plans aligned with global and regional goals.
- Support business continuity and emergency preparedness planning.
- Ensure adherence to ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards (or equivalent) and support audits and certifications.
- Act as subject matter expert providing guidance on EHS risks and compliance obligations.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
About you
- Degree in Health and Safety, Environment, Science or related discipline is essential.
- Recognised professional certification (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience of biological and/or clinical environments is essential.
- Significant experience in EHS management within a multi-site, regulated environment.
- Proven experience implementing EHS management systems and driving compliance.
- Strong understanding of Irish & UK regulatory frameworks.
- Strong leadership, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix and multi-site organisation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
- Experience leading change and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to regularly travel within the EMEA region, and globally as required.
The Salary Range Information: €85,000 - €90,000 + bonus
