Remote-based, supporting data-centre projects in Sweden and Norway, with occasional international travel required.

Job description:

The Junior Electrical Engineer will support the engineering and project management teams in the planning, coordination, installation, testing, and delivery of electrical works. The role provides an opportunity to develop practical engineering experience while contributing to the safe, efficient, and high-quality completion of electrical projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure that electrical installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, relevant standards, safety requirements, and agreed programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, schematics, technical submittals, and project documentation.
  • Support the preparation and updating of electrical drawings, layouts, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with material take-offs, procurement schedules, equipment tracking, and material requirements.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and installation teams to support the efficient progression of works.
  • Monitor site activities and assist in identifying technical issues, design conflicts, or installation constraints.
  • Support the preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs) and maintain relevant engineering records.
  • Assist with quality inspections and ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Support the completion of quality assurance documentation, inspection and test plans, check sheets, and handover records.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning, snagging, and close-out activities.
  • Attend project coordination, engineering, progress, and site meetings as required.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders under the direction of senior project personnel.
  • Support the preparation of progress reports, engineering updates, and project trackers.
  • Assist in monitoring project programmes and identifying potential delays or engineering risks.
  • Ensure that engineering information and revised drawings are communicated effectively to relevant site personnel.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including drawings, technical submissions, equipment schedules, and document registers.
  • Support the preparation of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and project handover documentation.
  • Promote and comply with all company health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Carry out other reasonable engineering and project-related duties as required.

Qualifications and ExperienceEssential

  • Bachelor’s degree, Level 7/8 qualification, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Services Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, installations, drawings, and engineering principles.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within project deadlines.

Pay: €45,000.00-€60,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Ireland
