Full job description

Project Engineering is a professional engineering services firm specializing in Mechanical Product Development and Machinery Safety. We work with leading national and international clients, primarily in the manufacturing sector, on a diverse range of innovative products and complex projects. We are now looking for a number of Mechanical Engineers to join our team in Ardee, Co. Louth.

This is a unique opportunity for a recent mechanical engineering graduate to engage in a stimulating role with a forward-thinking company offering significant rewards. The position involves a balanced focus on mechanical design and machinery safety.

Mechanical Design Responsibilities (50% approx.):

  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models using SolidWorks/Inventor.
  • Create engineering drawings, bills of material, and manage design data.
  • Work closely with customers on a variety of machine design and product development tasks.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure components are sourced and comply with specifications.
  • Occasionally oversee the manufacture of prototypes, ensuring they meet design specifications and customer requirements.

Machinery Safety Responsibilities (50% approx.):

  • Conduct site surveys and carry out office based research
  • Complete Design Risk Assessments and other technical documents using our proprietary templates.
  • Assess products for compliance with European Directives & Standards.
  • Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide practical solutions to compliance issues, adding value for our clients.

You'll be supported by our specialist training, co-operative team and business systems. You'll take part in peer reviews and may occasionally delegate some tasks to other team members.

To be considered, you must have:

  • An honour’s degree (Level 8) in mechanical engineering or a similar qualification
  • 3D CAD skills, ideally with SolidWorks or Inventor
  • IT skills – high level of proficiency with MS Office applications
  • ·Strong research skills and the ability to understand and apply technical documents
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and be detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English)
  • Ideally, you’ll have a clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle

This is a Hybrid Working role, typically 2-3 days in our office each week.
