McMenamin Engineering

This position is with McMenamin Engineering Ltd. The role forms part of an Innovation Boost project supported by InterTradeIreland. Salary support under the programme is provided for 12 months; however, the employment contract is with McMenamin Engineering Ltd and is not limited to the funding period.

Company Introduction

McMenamin Engineering is a family-run construction and engineering company based in Lismulladuff, Killygordon, Co. Donegal. Established in 1986, the company specialises in structural steel fabrication, cladding and erection services for industrial, commercial and agricultural projects.

Starting with agricultural products, the business has grown to deliver large-scale structural steel projects, modular units and bespoke engineering solutions across Ireland, working closely with clients to ensure quality, precision and timely delivery.

Job Description

McMenamin Engineering is seeking a motivated and practical individual to support the delivery of a digital transformation project across its workshop, yard and site operations. This is an opportunity to work within a busy engineering and construction environment, contributing to real improvements in how the business operates and delivers projects.

The role will involve reviewing existing processes, identifying inefficiencies and supporting the transition from paper-based systems to integrated digital workflows. The successful candidate will work closely with management and operational staff to implement systems that improve job tracking, stock control, document management and overall visibility across the business.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Mapping current workflows across workshop, yard and site activities.
  • Supporting the selection and configuration of digital systems.
  • Leading with data migration and system setup.
  • Developing structured workflows for job tracking, stock control and documentation.
  • Supporting system testing, pilot deployment and full rollout.
  • Delivering user training and supporting adoption across teams.
  • Contributing to ongoing system improvement and optimisation.

This role offers hands-on experience in delivering a live digital transformation project, with the opportunity to develop practical skills in process improvement, systems implementation and operational efficiency within a growing engineering company.

The successful candidate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with North West Regional College (NWRC) as part of the InterTradeIreland’s Innovation Boost Programme.

Interviews will be held approximately week commencing: 20/07/2026

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 2:2 Honours Degree in ICT, Computing, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland/EU and travel throughout Ireland as required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Ireland/EU you must upload a copy of it with your application. Failure to provide a relevant Visa/Work permit may result in your application not being considered.

Desirable Criteria:

  • At least 1 year’s experience in process analysis, systems implementation, or digital transformation within a manufacturing, engineering, or operational environment, including the use of ERP/MRP systems, production tracking, stock control, data management, and integrated business systems.
  • 1 year’s experience configuring workflow automation or digital approval processes, including digitising paper-based documentation systems within an engineering environment.
  • Experience developing operational dashboards or management reporting tools to support performance monitoring.
  • Experience working with financial data integration, including linking production data to invoicing or cashflow reporting.
  • Experience supporting change management initiatives in small to medium-sized businesses.
  • Knowledge of data security, access control and system governance within integrated digital platforms.
