Global Mobility SpecialistDescription
A leading international project delivery organisation is seeking a Global Mobility Specialist to join its growing team. This is a newly created role supporting the continued expansion of operations across multiple European countries. The successful candidate will join the Finance and Tax function and act as a key liaison with operational leadership teams across various international locations.
The successful candidate will support senior finance and tax stakeholders in managing global assignments, ensuring compliant and efficient mobility processes for employees relocating across jurisdictions. The role will have a strong focus on global mobility employment tax matters and cross-border compliance.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you must have proven experience in Global Mobility and Employment Tax, along with a strong understanding of cross-border taxation, payroll withholding, and compliance requirements, including tax equalisation and personal tax obligations.
You will bring excellent organisational and analytical skills, a high level of attention to detail, accuracy in calculations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple countries and business functions.
Key ResponsibilitiesGlobal Mobility Programme Management
- Manage end-to-end global mobility processes for employees relocating internationally, including pre-assignment planning, cost projections, documentation, and coordination with payroll, tax, finance, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate international assignments, including short-term, long-term, and permanent relocations.
- Track and manage employees who frequently travel for business.
- Act as the primary point of contact for mobile employees, HR teams, and key stakeholders.
Employment Tax & Compliance
- Support senior finance leadership in overseeing expatriate tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Liaise with external tax advisers to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and obtain specialist foreign tax advice where required.
- Manage tax equalisation arrangements, gross-ups, social security considerations, and validate assignment cost projections.
- Ensure adherence to local employment tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Compensation & Benefits Advisory
- Assist in the design and administration of expatriate compensation packages.
- Work closely with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate processing of international compensation and benefits.
- Conduct benchmarking exercises, salary simulations, and cost projections for international assignments.
- Manage mobility-related benefits, including allowances and relocation packages.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with operational leaders to ensure business requirements align with global mobility and employment tax compliance obligations.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on mobility policies, procedures, and assignment-related matters.
- Build strong relationships with external service providers, including relocation and tax advisers.
Policy & Process Development
- Support the development and implementation of global mobility policies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Interpret and apply mobility policies, manage complex cases, provide escalation support, and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting related to global mobility activity.
