Location: Glasnevin, Co Dublin
Contract Type: Full time, permanent contract

The Wayfinding Centre is a state-of-the-art training and development space designed to break down barriers to transport accessibility and empower people with disabilities to travel confidently and independently. The Wayfinding Centre is led and managed by the National Access & Mobility Manager.
At its core, the Wayfinding Centre places individuals with disabilities at the heart of its work, driving meaningful change in how transport systems are experienced and accessed. Through collaboration with industry leaders, communities, and stakeholders, the Centre is shaping a more inclusive and accessible future for all.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Services Officer, The National Access & Mobility Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of this pioneering facility. This is a vital leadership role, responsible for driving the vision, performance, and ongoing development of services that enhance accessibility and mobility.
You will lead a high-performing team, build strong stakeholder partnerships, and act as a key advocate for inclusive transport, ensuring the Wayfinding Centre delivers meaningful, measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Set and deliver the strategic vision for the Wayfinding Centre
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team
- Contribute to organisational strategy and decision-making
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across public, private, and community sectors
- Represent the Wayfinding Centre in external forums and champion accessibility initiatives
Programme Development & Innovation
- Oversee the design and delivery of innovative, user-focused services
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to enhance accessibility
Operations & Service Delivery
- Ensure high-quality, compliant, and user-centred service provision
- Implement continuous improvement and data-driven decision making
Facilities & Contract Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the facility
- Manage contractors, maintenance programmes, and health & safety compliance
Financial & Resource Management
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to deliver strategic objectives
Community Engagement
- Engage with service users and communities to inform service development and promote inclusion
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties. The successful candidate will be expected to carry out any other duties required in order to deliver the objectives of the Wayfinding Centre and ensure a high-quality academic experience.
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience (minimum 3 years managing teams)
- At least 5 years’ relevant professional experience
- Strong strategic thinking and programme delivery capability
- Experience in areas such as accessibility, transport, service delivery, or programme management
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy skills
- Passion for accessibility, inclusion, and social impact
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion is central to this role
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Orientation & mobility, public policy, social services, business)
- Previous experience in the Disability, Access, Mobility or Transport sector is an advantage.
Additional Information
- 37 hours per week (flexibility required, including occasional evening or weekend work)
- Garda vetting will be conducted for the successful candidate in line with Vision Ireland’s garda vetting policy.
