Full job description
Join the team at Lir Chocolates for our 2026–2027 seasonal production period! We’re recruiting General Operatives on fixed-term contracts to support our busy chocolate manufacturing site.
As a General Operative, you’ll work in either production or packing, contributing to the creation of our high‑quality chocolate products. You'll operate on a factory line, follow food safety standards, maintain excellent hygiene and work closely with your team to meet daily targets.
Shift Patterns Available:
- Days - Monday to Friday: 06:00–14:30
- Days - Monday to Thursday: 06:00–16:30
- Nights - Monday to Friday: 14:30–01:00
- Nights - Monday to Thursday: 16:30 -03:00
- Weekend Nights - Friday to Sunday: 18:00–06:30
- Weekend Days - Friday to Sunday: 06:00–18:30
Pay rate: €14.15 per hour plus 4% shift premium for weekend days and 8% shift premium for weekend nights.
Responsibilities:- Operating production line machinery safely and efficiently (full training provided).
- Packing, weighing, and labelling products to company standards.
- Monitoring product quality and reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and organised work area.
- Following all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Carrying out routine cleaning of equipment and production areas.
- Assisting with loading, unloading, and moving stock when required.
- Accurately completing production and quality records.
- Working collaboratively with your team to achieve daily output targets.
- Following instructions from team leaders and supervisors.
- Being flexible and willing to support different areas of production as business needs change.
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Ability to work on your own initiative while being a strong team player.
- A positive, proactive attitude and reliable approach to work.
- Good communication skills – verbal, written, and reading.
- Punctual, hardworking, and committed.
- 25 days annual leave + bank holiday's (pro-rata based on shift pattern)
