Full job description

We are seeking an organised and proactive individual to oversee the daily operations of our stock movements and assist with production tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement and storage of stock & materials, maintaining machinery & equipment, safety and cleanliness standards.

Reporting to the Operations Manager. Overseeing all yard and stock activities.

Responsibility includes:

  • Coordinate day-to-day yard operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and productivity.
  • Organise and coordinate the loading, unloading, labelling and storage of materials, stock, and equipment.
  • Conduct stock checks. Ensure all stock movements (receipts, transfers, dispatches, and adjustments) are recorded correctly.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages, or expired goods.
  • Coordinate with the Finance, Purchasing, Production, and Dispatch teams to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Monitor performance, attendance, and adherence to company procedures.
  • Ensure all plant, vehicles, and machinery are used safely, cleaned and maintained in good working order.
  • Machinery, equipment, and infrastructure checks. Basic maintenance tasks & PPM.
  • Monitor and report on personnel, vehicles & materials entering and leaving the site.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and promote a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with production, logistics, and dispatch teams to meet operational schedules.
  • Ensure the yard area is clean, organised, and compliant with company standards and regulations.
  • Provide directions and instructions to drivers, engineers and visitors.
  • Report maintenance issues, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
  • Waste management and energy monitoring.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiency within the yard.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or logistics role.
  • Knowledge of stock and storage requirements.
  • Good organisational and communication abilities.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and risk assessments.
  • Valid Forklift licence.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
