Who we are
Embrace is an Irish, family-owned provider of support services for people with intellectual disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and acquired brain injuries. These values underpin our strengths-based and person-centred approach, which together form the ethos of our service.
We are recruiting for a Health Care Assistant for our residential houses. We are seeking applications from candidates who have a passion for supporting people in the community and helping them to develop within their homes.
The suitable candidate should be fully flexible for day, night, and weekend shifts.
What we offer to successful candidates:
- Competitive basic salary of between €32000 - €34639 (dependant on experience)

Your profile:
- Full FETAC Level 5 healthcare qualification, or equivalent, or working towards it(essential)
- Full, manual Irish/EU driving licence (driving will be an essential part of your role)
- A kind and compassionate personality
- Fluent in English (essential)
- Willing to undergo a Garda Vetting application and other standard background checks
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred but not essential)
Job Overview
Embrace provides residential support services for adults and children with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and acquired brain injuries. We are looking for Support Workers / Health Care Assistants who believe in developing people’s strengths and work well in a team environment to join our team in our residential services. The successful candidate will be joining a strong team and will be overseen by a supportive management team.
Daily tasks
- Working closely with your colleagues, you will be responsible for supporting our residents to live fulfilled and wholesome lives, enabling them to learn new skills and live happily in their new home.
- Support the resident in meal preparation at whatever level of assistance they require, promoting a well-balanced diet and personal choice at all times
- Assist and promote good personal care skills i.e. toileting, bathing, showering
- Support residents to manage their personal medication in line with current practices and accompany them to appointments when applicable
- Keep accurate financial records, care plans etc.
- Attend all necessary training and meetings with your team and PIC
- Ensure a safe environment and perform duties in a manner conducive to health and safety and in accordance with Embrace policies and procedures
