As Division Manager this is an opportunity to take ownership of a key operational division within a growing and ambitious business. The successful candidate will have the autonomy, support and responsibility to make a genuine impact on operational performance, team development and business growth.

The Role

As Division Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management and long-term performance of the division, ensuring operational excellence, strong financial performance and a high-performing team culture.

You will lead operational teams across multiple sites while maintaining responsibility for service delivery, resource planning, health & safety compliance, customer satisfaction and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate and develop operational teams across multiple locations
  • Create a culture of accountability, engagement and high performance
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development
  • Manage employee performance issues where required
  • Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and training

Operational Management

  • Oversee planning, scheduling and service delivery activities
  • Ensure effective utilisation of crews, fleet and operational resources
  • Monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead daily and weekly operational review meetings
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently and to company standards

Commercial & Financial Responsibility

  • Take ownership of divisional performance and profitability
  • Monitor revenue, margins, productivity and utilisation
  • Manage departmental budgets and cost control measures
  • Identify opportunities for growth and operational efficiency
  • Drive achievement of agreed annual targets and KPIs

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as senior escalation point for operational issues
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Finance, Fleet, Sales, Compliance and Operational teams
  • Ensure customer expectations and service standards are consistently met

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a strong safety-first culture
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support environmental and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Ensure operational activities meet all legislative obligations

Essential Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a management role with direct responsibility for people, performance and operational delivery
  • Proven experience leading teams of 10+ employees
  • Experience managing operations across multiple locations or regions
  • Experience conducting performance reviews and managing employee performance
  • Demonstrated responsibility for budgets, KPIs and departmental results
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills

Desirable

  • Experience within environmental services, utilities, logistics, transport, facilities management or field service operations
  • Health & Safety management experience
  • Experience driving operational change and business improvement initiatives
