Bank teller: Full-time, 12 month fixed term contract position based in EBS Clonakilty, Cork.
At JJH Financial Services DAC, our bank tellers do more than handle money; they establish and nurture relationships with our valued customers. Our ideal candidate will have experience with banking processes, money management, and customer service. First and foremost, you must be trustworthy and precise. Responsibilities of this Role
Efficient Customer Service:
- Provide prompt and courteous service to customers during transactions.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive experience.
- Open new bank accounts for customers, subject to holding the relevant regulatory qualification.
Cash Handling:
- Operate registers, scanners, the bank safe and other relevant devices.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer and adhere to security protocols.
Sales and Promotion:
- Promote bank products and services to customers.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Follow regulatory guidelines and internal policies and procedures.
- Detect and report suspicious activities or potential fraud.
- Manage Cash Deliveries.
Accurate Transaction Processing and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Manage the visitor’s log.
- Maintain account opening and account maintenance files.
- Log and rectify any errors.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve branch goals.
- Assist other team members as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience as a Bank Teller is essential.
- Qualification: Recognised qualification to allow the role holder to discuss product information with customers i.e. QFA, or APA in Loans and / or Savings and Investments is preferred however not essential.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Organisational Skills & Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in transactions and record-keeping.
- IT Skills: Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word.

Controlled Function
This role is a 'controlled function' as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that the appointee meets the requirements as set out in the Fitness and Probity standards issued by the Central Bank. This requires the company to complete prescribed due diligence to assess the appointee's fitness and probity.
