About SoftCo

SoftCo is an AI- native Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Accounts Payable (AP) automation company built for complex organisations. In a market full of rigid templates and “plug-and-play” promises, our approach is different. We tailor automation around the organisation, not the organisation around the software.

For over 35 years, we’ve helped finance teams move from reactive, manual processes to controlled, scalable and strategic P2P operations. Our AI-native platform strengthens accuracy, visibility and insight, but it’s our delivery expertise that ensures it works in the real world.

Our success at a glance:

  • 1M+ users worldwide

  • Trusted by organisations including Volkswagen, Patagonia, Primark, Logitech and all 80 departments of the Finnish Government

  • Global reach with offices in the US, Finland, UK, Kosovo and Ireland

  • A reputation for owning where precision engineering meets long-term partnership

Join us as Business Consultant and play a key role in strengthening application security across our engineering practices, helping ensure our platform remains secure, resilient, and trusted as we continue to scale globally.

Business Consultant - Your role

This is a varied, client-facing position that offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of global customers and industries. The successful candidate will bring a strong AP/P2P process background, a practical approach to problem-solving, and a genuine interest in how AI and automation are changing the way finance teams operate.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement Relationship Management

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients throughout the full project lifecycle, building strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Supporting prject lead in workshops to understand clients' current AP/P2P processes, pain points, and business objectives.

  • Manage client expectations proactively, communicating progress, risks, and decisions clearly and professionally.

AP/P2P Process Knowledge Solution Design

  • Apply working knowledge of end-to-end AP/P2P processes, including invoice matching, approval workflows, exception handling, procurement, contracts and supplier management, to design solutions aligned to client requirements.

  • Configure the SoftCo platform to reflect scope requirements of workflows, approval hierarchies, and business rules, using process knowledge rather than technical coding, with consideration for best practice where current client processes can be improved.

  • Proactively identify where manual steps or inefficiencies exist within a client's process and recommend automation-led alternatives.

  • Collaborate with SoftCo's technical team where ERP integration or more complex configuration is required, acting as the functional bridge between client and technical resource.

Training Customer Adoption

  • Design and deliver structured training programmes for end users, team leads, and administrators, tailored appropriately to each audience.

  • Develop clear, accessible training materials including guides and process walkthroughs that clients can reference to support adoption.

  • Monitor adoption progress throughout the project, identifying and addressing any resistance or knowledge gaps early.

  • Support clients in building internal confidence and capability with the SoftCo platform to reduce reliance on post-go-live support.

AI-Driven Process Improvement

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of SoftCo's AI capabilities, including intelligent document capture, automated coding suggestions, and straight-through processing, and communicate their business value clearly to clients.

  • Help clients understand where AI can reduce manual intervention in their processes and support them in embracing automated decision-making.

  • Identify opportunities to expand automation scope within existing client accounts as part of ongoing relationship management.

  • Apply AI tools to improve your own ways of working, whether in documentation, project preparation, or internal reporting, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement across the consulting team.

  • Actively contribute to internal process improvement initiatives, sharing insights and learnings from client engagements to help SoftCo refine its delivery methodology.

Project Delivery Documentation

  • Support project planning, milestone tracking, and go-live preparation to ensure delivery stays on schedule.

  • Produce clear project documentation including solution design records, configuration notes, test scripts, and training materials.

  • Conduct UAT support, go-live hypercare, and post-implementation reviews.

Key Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in AP, P2P, or broader finance operations, in a practitioner or consulting capacity.

  • Strong, practical understanding of end-to-end AP/P2P processes and the day-to-day challenges finance teams face.

  • Experience implementing or working with AP automation solutions. Candidates with strong AP/P2P backgrounds across any major ERP environment are encouraged to apply.

  • Functional experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle (preferred), Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or NetSuite, at a process and industry knowledge level rather than technical development.

  • Demonstrable experience owning client relationships directly, managing expectations, leading meetings, and maintaining trust through the full project lifecycle.

  • Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programmes that build genuine user capability, not just product familiarity.

  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and unexpected challenges in a live client environment, finding practical solutions without losing composure.

  • A working comfort with AI tools and a willingness to apply them in both client-facing and internal contexts.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple active projects simultaneously without loss of quality or client experience.

  • Willingness to travel to client sites across Ireland, the UK, and internationally as required.

Desirable

  • Experience implementing or working with AP automation solutions.

  • Exposure to change management principles and structured project delivery frameworks.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

What We Offer

  • Competitive remuneration and performance-based bonus

  • Company-paid health insurance, pension and life assurance

  • Hybrid Working Model (3 days per week in office following onboarding period)

  • On-site gym with company-funded fitness classes (Dublin office)

  • Long service incentive awards and employee referral programme

  • Structured learning and development investment

Our structure gives you real ownership and direct exposure to senior leadership. Progression is based on capability, not hierarchy.
