Applications are invited for the post of General Maintenance .
This role of maintenance is to maintain, upkeep and support in the development of the whole garden and grounds. Also, they will perform general maintenance and works to ensure the building is maintained to a high standard, coordinating with external contractors, following all H&S standards, small power works jobs, have good understanding of the mechanism of buildings including electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment.
About The Role
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all the basic functions of the home are, as far as is practicable, in constant working order. This will demand daily reference to the maintenance repairs book and a round of the premises to check all aspects such as lights nurse call bells, door closers etc.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include painting and repairing doors and other general building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance
- Liaise with the maintenance contract providers and ensure that they fulfil their contract terms.
- Ensure that the grounds are a safe and pleasant environment for our residents.
- Daily check of all the building checking in with each dept to ensure all is in working order
- Assist with H&S requirements in line with H&S legislation
- Manage the Risk Assessment requirements of the nursing home.
- Act as the fire officer for the home ensuring that it fully complies with the relevant legislation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience as a General Maintenance
- Knowledge of state health and safety regulations for landscaping and maintenance
- The ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must have own transport and be willing to travel to other Nursing Homes if and
