Location: Kilmashogue Ln, Whitechurch, Dublin 16 (Education Sector)
Role: Food Service Assistant (Term - time)
Working Pattern: 06.30am - 14.30pm / 11.00am - 19.00pm
Hours Per Week: 30 hours
Rate of Pay: 14.15 per hour

Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Food Service Assistant to join our team in St Columba's College, Whitechurch, Dublin 16, Ireland. As a vital member of our food service operations, you will contribute to creating a positive dining experience for our customers while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
- Assist in food preparation, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients
- Serve meals and beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a hygienic work environment
- Restock serving lines, condiment stations, and dining areas as needed
- Assist with inventory management and storage of food items and supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns
- Participate in cleaning and organizing kitchen and dining areas
- Assist with special events and catering services as required
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU APPLY.
- The site is difficult to get to using public transport, please explore your options.
- The hours are determined by the school's term time, eg the school is closed for 3 weeks at Easter & Christmas, 4 weeks in August and 1 week in October and February.
- The full-time role is usually 40 hrs/wk but this is not guaranteed due to the school's term time.
- The shifts are typically Monday to Friday but flexibility would be desired.
- The shifts are typically 11:00 - 19:00 but flexibility is desired.
Qualifications
- Food handling experience
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality industry preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and work schedules
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds for extended periods
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
