Excel Recruitment is recruiting a Head Chef for a unique hospitality and food service operation in Kildare.

This opportunity is ideal for a Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Senior Sous Chef looking to step into a high-profile operation that combines premium daily food service, corporate hospitality, conferences, and large-scale events across multiple food outlets.

This is not a traditional hotel or restaurant kitchen. The focus is on delivering exceptional food experiences across multiple dining outlets, hospitality services, conferences, and events within a busy contract catering environment. You'll have the opportunity to lead a diverse food operation while enjoying excellent working hours and genuine work-life balance.

The Role

As Head Chef, you will lead a busy kitchen operation, overseeing food production, menu development, hospitality catering, and event delivery. You'll be responsible for driving standards, developing your team, and ensuring a consistently outstanding food offering across multiple service areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations across multiple food outlets
  • Develop fresh, seasonal, and innovative menus
  • Deliver high-quality food across daily service, hospitality, and events
  • Manage food costs, purchasing, stock control, and budgets
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop kitchen team members
  • Ensure full HACCP, food safety, and health & safety compliance
  • Plan and deliver hospitality functions, conferences, and special events
  • Maintain exceptional standards of food quality and presentation
  • Work closely with senior management to drive performance and continuous improvement

About You

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Senior Sous Chef
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience within hotels, hospitality venues, conference & banqueting operations, contract catering, or high-volume food environments
  • Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock management, and kitchen controls
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety requirements
  • Passion for fresh food and delivering high-quality dining experiences
  • Hands-on approach with strong organisational and communication skills
