Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Controller

Location: Sharp Group Office
Job Type: Full-Time | Immediate Start | Shift Work (Nights & Weekends)

About the Role

We are seeking a professional and reliable Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Controller to join our team with an immediate start.

As an ARC Controller, you will play a vital role in monitoring and responding to alarm activations, CCTV systems, and access control events while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a fast-paced position requiring excellent attention to detail, sound decision-making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to alarm activations in accordance with company procedures.
  • Operate CCTV monitoring systems and coordinate appropriate responses.
  • Manage access control systems and remote site security.
  • Follow strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and client instructions.
  • Accurately record all incidents and actions taken.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, emergency services, keyholders, and colleagues.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Deliver excellent customer service at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • PSA (Monitoring Licence).
  • Legal right to work in the Republic of Ireland.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Good PC and keyboard skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping record.
  • Flexible to work a rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Previous experience in an Alarm Receiving Centre, Security Operations Centre (SOC), or a similar security environment is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Ability to learn and operate multiple security and safety systems.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Meet all licensing and certification requirements applicable to the role.
  • Successfully complete any required company medical or substance testing where applicable.
