Full job description
We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as General Operatives on our fruit packing line.
The Fruit Packer - General Operative is responsible for efficiently performing a range of tasks within the fruit packing warehouse, ensuring the quality, safety, and timely dispatch of fresh produce. Reporting to the Line Team Leader, the operative plays a key part in maintaining the smooth operation of the production line and contributing to the team's success. Key Responsibilities:
- Packing and Sorting: Accurately pack fruits according to specific customer orders, ensuring that the quality and quantity of the products meet the required standards. Sort fruits based on size, quality, and type, removing any damaged or substandard items.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on fruits and packaging materials. Ensure that all products meet the set quality standards before they are dispatched to customers.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate machinery and equipment used in the packing process, such as conveyor belts, scales, and sealing machines. Perform basic troubleshooting and report any malfunctions to the Line Team Leader.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and organized. Perform routine cleaning of the packing equipment and warehouse to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Assist in inventory checks and the stocking of packing materials. Ensure that the necessary materials are available and in good condition for the packing process.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure a cohesive operation. Provide support to other areas of the production line as required by the Line Team Leader.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and policies to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and use the provided protective gear.
Skills and Qualifications:
- No specific educational qualifications required, but a communicative level of English language is required.
- Previous experience in a similar role or within a warehouse/production environment is beneficial.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions in English accurately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Working Conditions and Hours:
- This role involves working in a warehouse environment.
- The position requires standing for extended periods and involves significant physical activity, including lifting, bending, and moving products (full training will be provided).
