Full job description

Our Community Pharmacy is based in the village of Corrandulla, 15 minutes outside Galway City. The Pharmacy OTC / Dispensing Assistant is a dual role ideal for someone who enjoys a customer-facing role but also has a strong interest in supporting our busy dispensary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a friendly, timely manner
  • Provide accurate, confident over the counter healthcare advice
  • Day to day shop floor duties including stock management and cleaning
  • Maintain inventory and ensure the proper stock of OTC medicines and front of shop products
  • Stock rotation and merchandising

Dispensary support:

  • Taking accurate, concise prescription orders over the phone, in-person and by email
  • Relay these orders to dispensary staff
  • Process order deliveries, manage expiry dates and maintain hygiene standards in the dispensary.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent communication skills on the phone and in person is essential as is confidentiality
  • Have basic computer skills including Microsoft word and email
  • Be enthusiastic and keen to learn
  • Previous pharmacy/retail experience an advantage

This is a full time, permanent position with lots of support and training from an experienced team.

The rate per hour is based on experience.

Closed on Sundays and bank holiday Monday's.

Pay: €14.92-€19.97 per hour

Work Location: In person
