Full job description

Chef | Lisdoonvarna

We’ve just opened the doors to The Hydro Hotel under new ownership, and we’re looking for Chefs to join us on the journey from the very beginning.

This is a chance to be part of shaping a new kitchen, a new team, and a new dining experience from day one. It’s exciting, creative, sometimes challenging — and full of opportunity for the right people.

We’re honest about where we are: this is a new opening, and we’re still building, learning, and evolving together. We’re looking for chefs who enjoy that environment — people who are passionate about food, adaptable, collaborative, and excited to help create something special.

About the Role

As part of our kitchen team, you’ll help deliver food that is thoughtful, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable for our guests.

You’ll work across daily service, breakfast, the coffee dock, dinner, and events, contributing ideas, maintaining standards, and supporting the wider team in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on role where attitude and teamwork matter just as much as technical ability.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have previous experience working in a professional kitchen
  • Are passionate about food, hospitality, and guest experience
  • Work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
  • Are organised, reliable, and team-focused
  • Take pride in quality and consistency
  • Are adaptable and willing to help where needed
  • Have strong hygiene and food safety standards
  • Want to grow with a new hotel and be part of building something from the ground up

Whether you’re an experienced chef or looking to take the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from people who bring energy, positivity, and a genuine love for hospitality.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to join a brand-new hotel opening from day one
  • A collaborative and supportive kitchen environment
  • The chance to help shape menus, systems, and kitchen culture
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Staff meals and employee benefits
  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Real opportunities to grow as the hotel develops

Building Something Together

Opening a hotel is never completely polished from the start. There will be busy services, learning curves, evolving systems, and moments where everyone pulls together.

But there’s also something special about being there at the beginning — helping shape the standards, culture, and atmosphere of a kitchen from day one.

If you’re excited by that kind of opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply

Please send your CV and a short introduction telling us a little about yourself and why you’d like to join the team.
