Production Technician

Location: Gort, Co. Galway
Role Type: Full time Permanent
Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 7:00am to 12:00pm

As a Production Technician, you’ll play a key role in assembling, processing, and ensuring the quality of PC-based medical diagnostic systems, including EEG/EMG/IOM. You’ll work under tight deadlines, either independently or as part of a collaborative team, to meet customer specifications and exceed expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manufacture company products to high-quality standards using appropriate tools and procedures.
  • Process and issue materials to Work Orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prioritize daily tasks based on kanban and inventory reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering and senior supervisors on projects, process improvements, and new product introductions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, uphold safety standards, and ensure compliance with quality procedures.
  • Contribute to lean projects and work effectively both independently and within a team.
Education & Experience:
  • Experience in manufacturing or warehouse operations is favorable.
  • 3–5 years of experience building, configuring and testing medical devices.
  • Hands-on skills in wiring, soldering, and hand assembly are a plus.
  • Proven IT and computer assembly skills highly advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel; familiarity with Oracle database systems.
  • Willingness to work rotational day/evening shifts leading up to month/quarter-end.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Possess a good working knowledge of regulatory standards and practices e.g., GMP/GDP.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in operating automatic equipment is desirable.
  • Understanding/knowledge of JDE/SAP/Oracle database systems.
  • Availability for shift work.
