VISITOR EXPERIENCE HOST (Part-Time)

Mount Congreve Gardens

Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford

€14.15 per hour

Part-time | Rostered across 7 days

Work Somewhere Different

Mount Congreve Gardens is one of Ireland’s leading visitor attractions and one of the Great Gardens of the World. We are currently seeking energetic, practical, and people-focused individuals to join our Visitor Experience Team.

This is not a desk job. It’s an active, hands-on role based across our beautiful gardens, visitor attraction, and accommodation offering. No two days are the same - one moment you could be welcoming overnight guests to our forest cabins, the next assisting with an event, preparing guest arrivals, or helping visitors enjoy everything the estate has to offer.

If you enjoy working outdoors, like variety in your day, and thrive in a busy hospitality environment, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Visitor Experience Host, you will support the day-to-day operation of the estate across visitor services, accommodation, events, and guest experience.

This role combines hospitality, tourism, front-of-house operations, and practical outdoor work in a unique estate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome day visitors, overnight guests, and group tours with warmth and professionalism
  • Assist with guest check-in and check-out for lodges, cabins, and glamping accommodation
  • Deliver guest amenities and welcome packs across the estate using the estate buggy
  • Prepare accommodation and guest areas to a high standard before arrivals
  • Cleaning of hot tubs and outdoor guest facilities
  • Assist with event set-up and breakdown across the estate
  • Support front-of-house operations including ticketing, admissions, and visitor enquiries
  • Provide visitors with information about the gardens, exhibitions, accommodation, and local attractions
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across guest and public areas
  • Respond to guest queries and resolve issues professionally and positively
  • Promote memberships, events, accommodation, and gift experiences to visitors

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people who are:

  • Friendly, approachable, and confident with visitors
  • Practical and hands-on with a positive attitude
  • Comfortable working outdoors and staying active throughout the day
  • Flexible and reliable as part of a team
  • Calm under pressure in a busy environment
  • Passionate about hospitality, tourism, or customer experience

Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, retail, cafés, hotels, holiday parks, or visitor attractions is an advantage, but personality and attitude are equally important.

An interest in gardens, nature, or horticulture is welcome but not essential.

Physical Nature of the Role

This is an active role and may involve:

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walking between different areas of the estate
  • Preparing accommodation and outdoor facilities
  • Lifting and carrying supplies and equipment
  • Being on your feet for extended periods
  • Assisting with event and operational set-ups

If you enjoy staying busy and active rather than sitting behind a desk, this role could be an excellent fit.

Benefits

  • Work in one of Ireland’s most beautiful estates and visitor attractions
  • Staff discounts
  • Bike to Work Scheme
  • Company events
  • On-site parking
  • Supportive and friendly team environment
  • Varied and engaging workdays
  • Opportunity to gain experience across hospitality, tourism, events, and accommodation operations

Requirements

  • Full clean Irish driver’s licence
  • Reliable access to transportation
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: €14.15 per hour

Benefits:

  • Bike to work scheme
  • Company events
  • Employee discount
  • On-site parking

Application question(s):

  • Do you have a full clean Irish drivers licence and reliable access to transportation?

Experience:

  • Hotel: 1 year (required)

Work Location: In person
