We are working with a leading technology solutions provider based in Ireland, specializing in network infrastructure and IT services. As a Network Engineer you will be an integral part of our team, working on challenging projects and collaborating with talented professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our clients' network infrastructure. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our clients' networks, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to understand their requirements, design scalable network solutions, and provide ongoing support.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions for clients based on their specific requirements.
- Configure and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Perform network monitoring and analysis to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Identify and resolve network-related issues, such as connectivity, latency, and security vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT systems and applications.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Conduct network capacity planning and make recommendations for network expansion and upgrades.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto Networks.
- Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex network issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent.
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud networking principles and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with network virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ACI).
- Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
