Design Coordinator – Coordinate Major Construction Projects

Are you an experienced Design professional who thrives on coordination, collaboration and seeing complex projects come together? This could be the next step in your career.

We are recruiting for a Design Coordinator to join an experienced design team working on significant multi-storey precast concrete projects across the Irish and UK markets.

The Opportunity

As Design Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating building information models and ensuring that designs are aligned across project teams.

You'll work closely with subcontractors, clients, design teams, engineers and internal coordinators, helping to ensure projects progress efficiently from design through to production.

The role requires someone who is confident communicating with different stakeholders and comfortable taking ownership of coordination activities and project meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of building information models.
  • Coordinate designs between subcontractors and client design teams.
  • Identify and resolve design and coordination issues.
  • Work closely with structural engineers, detailers and project teams.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Ensure models and project information are coordinated accurately.
  • Support the smooth transition from design through to manufacture and construction.

What We're Looking For

  • Third-level Structural or Civil Engineering qualification – Level 8 or higher.
  • Relevant BIM/design coordination experience.
  • Ideally 2+ years' experience, although strong graduates may also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of construction and structural design.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Confident working with multiple project stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
