PPACKAGING DESIGN ENGINEER

We are looking for a Packaging Design Engineer to support the design requirements within our Design Lab. The successful candidate will be motivated, driven and be capable of working effectively in a fast paced environment.

UN1F1ED2 Global Packaging Group is a global leader in bespoke protective packaging. We design, manufacture, test and deliver our packaging products.

UN1F1ED2 Global Packaging Group Ireland – is based in Carrigtwohill - a short distance from Cork City. Our existing engineering team is growing and developing in line with our business which now presents this exciting opportunity.

The role is very suited to a qualified mechanical engineer who has been 2-5 years out in industry - preferably packaging manufacturing industry. Full training and support will be given and we will strive to develop the successful candidate to the utmost of their capability. A new perspective can have a positive impact and influence on future packaging designs including sustainable packaging concepts. This is one of the many areas our Design Team will continue to focus on to provide sustainable solutions for our customers. this role will suit someone who has a particular interest in packaging design or packaging materials.

Main Duties:

  • Produce customer drawings using Solidworks/Autocad
  • Produce samples and ensure they meet expected quality standards
  • Operation of CAD Sample Table to produce product
  • Work with design team on complex design projects
  • Liaise with customers on product design and requirements
  • Adhere to Design Centre Paperflow process flow
  • Support design function on new and existing projects
  • Liaise with relevant departments on design requirements
  • Responsible for implementing Quality Control Systems
  • Assist with Design Centre supplies stock levels
  • Support Design Centre upkeep
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements (ISO Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety etc.)
  • Support in all aspects of the Design and Test Lab as required

Qualification and Skills

  • Qualifications - Degree qualified in Engineering Discipline
  • PC literate Autocad/Solidworks
  • Familiarity with CAM machines an advantage
