R&D Engineer - Galway
Overview
We are seeking a motivated R&D Engineer to support the development and improvement of disposable medical devices, including EEG cup electrodes, needle electrodes, injection-moulded assemblies, and wearable devices.
This role is suited to a recent graduate or engineer with up to 5 years' experience who is eager to learn, enjoys hands-on engineering work, and works well as part of a team.

We are seeking a motivated R&D Engineer to support the development and improvement of disposable medical devices, including EEG cup electrodes, needle electrodes, injection-moulded assemblies, and wearable devices.
This role is suited to a recent graduate or engineer with up to 5 years' experience who is eager to learn, enjoys hands-on engineering work, and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform product testing using laboratory equipment, including automated force testing systems.
- Analyse test data using statistical methods and prepare concise technical reports.
- Assist senior engineers with product development and sustaining engineering activities.
- Organise and manage prototypes, samples, and test materials.
- Support design verification and product evaluation activities.
- Create and update CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
- Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Liaise with contract manufacturers and suppliers regarding samples, prototypes, and technical activities.
- Contribute to problem-solving and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years' engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks/CAD
- experience in Test methods, Tensile testing. report wriring and working with contractors / suppliers.
- Understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering materials.
- Ability to analyse data and apply basic statistical techniques.
- Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Understanding of working within a Quality Management System.
