Full job description

  • Reporting to: Head Chef
  • Role Types: Permanent
  • Hours: Full Time
  • Remuneration: 15 to 17 euro, depending on experience
  • Location: GROW HQ, Waterford

GIY is an award-winning social enterprise dedicated to creating a movement of people connected to real food - organic, fresh, local, in-season food grown in living soil. GROW HQ, the home of GIY, opened in 2016 and features a multi-award winning farm-to-fork cafe, organic farm shop, organic training gardens and regenerative farm (at the Curraghmore Estate).

Due to a valued team member relocating, we are now looking to welcome a new chef to our kitchen team.

This role will involve Wednesday to Sunday shifts, supporting both daytime service and occasional night-time events.

Qualifications, Experience, & Competencies

We are looking for experienced and qualified individuals who share GROW HQ’s culture, vision and values. Our ideal candidates would have the following qualifications and experience:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Food & Beverage environment
  • Strong knife skills and confidence in food preparation
  • A passion for local, seasonal, home-grown food, with an interest in preserving and foraging
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency in service
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • A willingness to grow, learn, and continuously develop professionally
  • Open to feedback and able to take direction positively
  • A supportive team player who values integrity, respect, and teamwork
