Job Title: Practice Nurse – GP Clinic

Location: Dundalk, Co Louth, Ireland

About Us:

Xpress Health is a leading healthcare provider in Ireland, committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We are expanding our clinic services and are looking for an experienced and dedicated Practice Nurse to join our team in Dundalk.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care within a busy GP practice environment.
  • Conduct patient assessments, observations, and clinical procedures within your scope of practice.
  • Support GPs in the management of acute and chronic conditions, including chronic disease management programs.
  • Administer vaccinations and immunizations in accordance with national guidelines.
  • Perform wound care, dressings, cervical smear tests (where trained), ear irrigation, phlebotomy, ECGs, spirometry, and other clinical procedures as appropriate.
  • Promote health education, preventative care, and healthy lifestyle initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control, medication management, and clinical governance standards.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, practice nurses, administrative staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver compassionate, confidential, and professional care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.

Essential Requirements:

  • Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of recent nursing experience in Ireland within a GP practice, primary care setting, or similar clinical environment.
  • Familiarity with Irish healthcare standards, HSE guidelines, and primary care practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Competency in clinical assessment and common nursing procedures.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland with the appropriate employment authorization.
  • Available to join a GP clinic in Dundalk, Co. Louth through Xpress Health.

Desirable

  • Experience with chronic disease management clinics (Diabetes, COPD, Asthma, Hypertension).
  • Experience using GP practice management systems such as Socrates, Health One, or Helix Practice Manager.
  • Competency in cervical screening, childhood immunizations, travel vaccinations, spirometry, ECGs, and phlebotomy.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €32.00-€50.00 per hour
