A well-established civil engineering and plant hire contractor based in Skibbereen, West Cork is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its team.



Projects: Operating across a range of infrastructure, utilities and civil works projects, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, high-quality solutions throughout the region.
Salary: €50-€80k

Your new role
This is a varied role that goes beyond traditional quantity surveying and would suit someone who enjoys being heavily involved in all aspects of project delivery.
Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of material schedules and procurement of materials
• Subcontractor procurement and management
• Cash flow forecasting and cost control
• Programming and planning of works
• Pricing and agreement of variations
• Preparation of monthly progress accounts
• Cost/value reconciliations
• Attendance at site and client meetings
• Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
• Estimating civil engineering and infrastructure projects
• Tendering for drainage, water main, coastal, road and general civil works projects
• Preparation and submission of SAQs and pre-qualification documentation
• Preparation of road opening and road closure licence applications
• Coordination of traffic management documentation and method statements
• Preparation of RAMS and contract documentation
• Supporting project compliance and health & safety requirements throughout delivery

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar
• Experience working with a civil engineering, utilities, groundworks or infrastructure contractor
• Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
• Ability to manage projects from tender stage through to final account
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment within a smaller business
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Full driving licence
