Role: Manufacturing Process Specialist

Contract: 12 months + extension

Location: Ringaskiddy, Cork

Hybrid Work 3 days on-site / 2 remote


Here at Hays we are supporting a global pharmaceutical company in Ringaskiddy, Cork who are seeking to hire a Manufacturing Process Specialist on a contract basis.

Your Role:Working within the Manufacturing Readiness team, you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by investigating material supply issues, managing change controls, coordinating cross-functional activities, and ensuring uninterrupted production of life-saving medicines.This position offers excellent exposure to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Validation, Engineering, and Technical Operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support investigations relating to material supply and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Manage and coordinate change controls associated with manufacturing materials and processes.
  • Support qualification activities for manufacturing single-use consumables and components.
  • Evaluate opportunities for shelf-life extensions and material optimisation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Technical Operations teams.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to gather information required for investigations and change controls.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of operational issues impacting manufacturing activities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to cross-functional review boards.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with GMP, GDP, Quality, and EHS requirements.
  • Generate and maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Support training and knowledge sharing within the team.


Essential Requirements:

  • Level 8 qualification in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.


Desirable

  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life sciences environment.
  • Exposure to manufacturing support, process support, quality systems, validation, technical operations, or supply chain activities.
  • Experience with change controls, deviations, CAPAs, or investigations.
  • Knowledge of SAP, TrackWise, electronic documentation systems, or similar business systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Project experience within a regulated industry.
