Your New Company:
You will be joining a well‑established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across Ireland. The organisation delivers a wide range of projects including utilities, infrastructure, groundworks, and public‑sector civil works. With a growing portfolio of long‑term frameworks and repeat clients, the company continues to expand its commercial and project teams to support increasing demand. They promote a collaborative, people‑focused culture where Quantity Surveyors are given the support, autonomy, and progression opportunities needed to develop their careers within a fast‑moving and reputable contractor.

Your New Role & Responsibilities:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key commercial role across civil engineering, utilities, and infrastructure projects throughout the greater Dublin area. You will support the financial and contractual management of works, ensuring accurate cost control, effective subcontractor coordination, and timely reporting to the wider project team. These positions are predominantly paid on an hourly basis (you will be paid for every hour you work on site), an annual salary is also available.

Selection of Duties:

  • Support the commercial management of civil engineering, utilities, and infrastructure projects across the Dublin region.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations, variations, and final accounts in line with project progress.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and forecasts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with procurement activities, including issuing tender packages and assessing subcontractor quotations.
  • Review and process subcontractor payment applications, claims, and invoices.
  • Maintain detailed cost records, commercial documentation, and project files.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to track progress and identify commercial impacts.
  • Contribute to cost planning, value engineering, and commercial strategy discussions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role within civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or groundworks projects. Alongside a strong understanding of commercial processes including valuations, variations, cost reporting, and subcontractor management. Additionally, a strong understanding of procurement processes used in civils projects.
Good organisational ability and a strong attention to detail paired with a commercial mindset to support project outcomes will aid your success in this role.

What You'll Get in Return:
In return, you will be joining a stable civil engineering contractor with a strong pipeline of utilities, infrastructure, and general civils projects across the Dublin region. You will have opportunities to progress your commercial career as the business continues to expand.
You will have the option of being paid on either an hourly rate or a fixed salary. Hourly rates typically range from €30 to €50 per hour, depending on experience and project exposure. This generally equates to €60,000 to €105,000+ per year based on a 45-hour working week, with PAYE or self‑employed arrangements available.
Salaries for Quantity Surveyors in the civil engineering sector are commonly offered in the region of €60,000 to €85,000+, with additional benefits such as a vehicle or travel allowance, performance‑related bonuses, and pension contributions depending on experience. Your position within this range will reflect the value and commercial capability you bring to the team.
