As a Rapid Response Healthcare Assistant, you'll play a vital role in delivering urgent, hands-on care to people in their own homes. You'll support service users who need immediate assistance, step into new care packages, and help ensure individuals remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own communities.

Who we are looking for:

Beyond the checklist, the key expectations are:

  • Experience in homecare (1+ year in Ireland) - they want someone already familiar with home settings
  • QQI Level 5 in Health & Social Care - a formal qualification is required
  • Driving licence + car - essential due to travel between clients
  • Calm under pressure - because "rapid response" means things change quickly
  • Strong communication & organisation - juggling visits, notes, and reporting
  • Compassion + empathy - core of homecare work
  • Weekend flexibility - rota-based system


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To be responsible for staff shadowing - ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • To undertake emergency over - Rapid response (filling new packages and discharges)
  • To evaluate and monitor the quality of the care delivered to clients and report to the area manager with concerns
  • Checking and collecting journal notes from clients houses
  • Delivery of Careplans, log sheets and gloves to client's homes when required
  • Delivery of PPE

To undertake any other reasonable duties as required*
