Role Overview:

Chef de Partie (2 morning shifts each week)
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and talented Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at the Heights Hotel. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a key role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will manage a section of the kitchen, prepare and cook food to order, and contribute to menu development and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present food to the highest standards, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
  • Manage a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring all food is prepared on time and to the correct specifications.
  • Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff, ensuring they are trained to deliver high-quality food and adhere to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to plan and develop menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and local produce.
  • Ensure that kitchen areas and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage food inventory levels, ensuring stock is rotated and used efficiently to minimize waste.
  • Support the Head Chef in maintaining kitchen budgets, controlling food costs, and ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Assist in the training and development of kitchen staff, providing mentorship and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Adhere to the hotel’s policies and procedures, ensuring all kitchen activities are carried out safely and professionally.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role within a high-end hotel or restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A passion for food and creativity with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • A formal culinary qualification (City & Guilds, Le Cordon Bleu, or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices.
