Full job description

Operations Manager Job Description

The operations manager is responsible for the daily operations of The Western Strands. Standards are to be maintained, and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Liaise with the head chef and GM to set and maintain service standards.

2. Ensure the smooth running and efficient operation of the premises.

3. Ensure SOPs are followed and assist in constant updating of SOPs and training.

4. Help increase productivity, margins and standards.

5. Ensure customer satisfaction.

6. Keep accurate cashing out records and payment records for all accommodation and food and beverage transactions.

7. Upskill themselves and their team.

8. Rota management, ensuring there is always a senior member of staff present and adequate support, but keeping our wage percentage in line with sales.

9. Help keep accurate stock levels and record leakages/breakages.

10. Ensure consistency of service by :

a. Setting standards and writing SOPs.

b. Training staff on SOPs.

c. Corrective coaching.

d. Having a means of ensuring SOPs are followed.

e. Reporting to GM on shortfalls.

f. Being present at peak times.

g. Being prepared.

11. Build a competent service team.

12. Keep records of staff performance, assist staff to grow their skills.

13. Ensure all company legal obligations with staff are upheld.

14. Attend weekly meetings with GM/Accountant, Head Chef and other operations managers.

15. Room sales, check in/check out of guest rooms.

16. Function sales/Restaurant reservations.

17. Booking confirmations.
