Leisure Centre Attendant: Part time (Swimming instruction: Level 2)

Job description:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, professional and people-focused Hotel Leisure Centre Attendant, with a Level 2 Swimming Instructor qualification, to join our leisure team.

As one of the first points of contact for guests using our leisure facilities, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone — from families enjoying the pool to members taking part in swimming lessons and those simply looking to relax and stay active.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service throughout their visit.
  • Supervise the swimming pool and leisure facilities, maintaining the highest standards of safety at all times.
  • Deliver swimming instruction in line with your Level 2 Swimming Instructor qualification.
  • Support swimming lessons and activities for children and adults, adapting your approach to different abilities and confidence levels.
  • Carry out poolside safety checks and follow all relevant leisure, health and safety procedures.
  • Monitor water quality and complete relevant operational and maintenance checks.
  • Respond confidently and appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
  • Keep the leisure centre clean, presentable and ready for guests.
  • Build positive relationships with hotel guests, members and colleagues.
  • Promote a welcoming environment that reflects the hotel's standards and values.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent guest experiences.

Essential:

  • Current Level 2 Swimming Instructor qualification.
  • Strong swimming ability and confidence working poolside.
  • Excellent awareness of pool safety and emergency procedures.
  • A friendly, professional and approachable manner.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both adults and children.
  • A responsible and proactive approach to health, safety and safeguarding.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a hotel, leisure centre, health club or similar environment.
  • Lifeguard qualification and relevant pool rescue training.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience delivering swimming lessons to a range of ages and abilities.
