About NCBC
The National Cattle Breeding Centre is one of Ireland's leading cattle breeding and genetics companies, supplying high-quality bovine genetics to farmers across Ireland and to international markets. Based in Naas, Co. Kildare, we combine on-site laboratory and production operations with a growing export business.
The Role
We have recently implemented Salesforce as our core operational platform, spanning laboratory, production, export, and finance processes. We are now looking for a Systems and Data Manager to take full ownership of that platform and of how systems and data are used across the business.
This is a broad, senior, standalone role with genuine autonomy. You will be the person the business turns to for anything to do with systems and data. You will run and develop the Salesforce platform, own the relationship with our external Salesforce partner, document how we work, and bring people across the organisation with you as we move from a newly live system to one the business genuinely relies on.
It suits someone who enjoys working directly with non-technical colleagues, is comfortable sitting with people to understand how they work, and wants to own something end to end rather than sit within a large IT function.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce platform ownership
– Day-to-day administration of the Salesforce org: users, profiles, permission sets, security, and configuration.
– First point of contact for user queries and issues, logging, triaging, prioritising, and tracking all requests through to resolution.
– Own the change and release process, coordinating with our in-house developer and external partner, including testing, user acceptance, sign-off, and release documentation.
– Manage integrated applications and managed packages, including document generation, finance, and document management tools.
Data and reporting
– Own data standards across the business: entry procedures, master data controls, imports, corrections, deduplication, and integrity checks.
– Build and maintain reports and dashboards for Finance, Exports, and operations, including standard management reporting.
– Interrogate data from internal and external sources and bring it together in a way the business can act on.
– Identify trends and issues in the data and propose improvements.
Process and business engagement
– Work with each area of the business to document how processes actually run, and write and maintain SOPs and system documentation.
– Run workshops and working sessions to gather requirements, agree priorities, and build buy-in for change.
– Deliver hands-on training and build user confidence and adoption across the organisation.
– Act as a bridge between the business and technical partners, translating in both directions.
Vendor and stakeholder management
– Own the day-to-day relationship with our external Salesforce partner and other software vendors.
– Assess where external support is needed and where work can be delivered in-house.
– Report regularly to senior management on system status, open items, priorities, and risks.
Essential Requirements
– Demonstrable hands-on Salesforce administration experience. This is a hard requirement and applications without it will not be progressed.
– Salesforce Certified Administrator, or equivalent practical experience with certification in progress.
– Strong working knowledge of Flow, validation rules, page layouts, permissions, reports, and the Salesforce security model.
– Experience owning or administering a business system end to end, including managing a request queue or support backlog.
– Excellent communication skills, with a genuine ability to work alongside non-technical colleagues and bring them with you.
– Experience writing process documentation and standard operating procedures.
– A self-starter, comfortable owning a platform with external partner support rather than a large internal IT team behind you.
Desirable
– Experience with managed packages such as Conga, Accounting Seed, or document management tools.
– Familiarity with deployment and release tooling (change sets, Gearset or similar).
– Reporting and analytics experience beyond native Salesforce reporting, for example Power BI.
– Data migration or data cleansing experience.
– Experience supporting finance, export, or operational processes.
– An interest in agriculture, or experience in an operational or production environment.
What We Offer
– A standalone role with real ownership and autonomy from day one.
– Direct access to senior management and visible impact across the business.
– Support from an established external Salesforce partner during handover and beyond.
– Salary of €60,000 to €75,000 depending on experience.
Terms
Permanent, full-time. Based on-site in Naas, Co. Kildare [hybrid by agreement, to confirm]. Reports to the Chief Executive [to confirm]. Immediate start preferred.
