Applications are invited for the position of IT Support Technician - Grade IV

North Midlands Credit Union are seeking a proactive and member focused IT Support Technician to join our IT team and play a key role in supporting our systems across multiple branches in Westmeath, Longford, Cavan & Roscommon. North Midlands Credit Union is a modern, member focused credit union, dedicated to serving its membership in an efficient and professional manner while providing best in class products and services. The
successful candidate will provide first and second line technical support to staff, ensuring the reliability, security and efficiency of our IT systems. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical troubleshooting skills, enjoys working directly with users, being involved in both day-to-day support and ongoing IT improvements and a
commitment to delivering excellent member service.

In order to enhance and support the existing management structure for the provision of services to members,
applications are invited for IT Support Technician. The successful applicants will initially be assigned to the
Mullingar Branch. This position is initiated in order to meet current and projected operational demands. A panel for this specific role may be formed.

The Role
Reporting to the IT Manager, you will support the organisation’s IT infrastructure across our branch network. You will be involved in a wide range of activities including user support, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting with IT projects. This role offers strong variety and the opportunity to build broad experience across infrastructure, systems, and security.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide deskside and remote support to staff across 7 branches.

· Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot issues across PCs, laptops, servers, networks, printers, and
business applications.

· Assist with the rollout of new hardware and digital tools.

· Assist staff with new systems and create user-friendly guides.

· Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.

· Support ongoing IT projects and system improvements.

· Keep up to date with technical and industry developments.

· Maintain IT documentation, asset registers, and user guides

· Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders.

· Log, track and resolve support requests and liaise with vendors to escalate issues when needed.

· Work with the IT Manager to support the planning and scheduling of essential maintenance, security updates and investigation of system and application events that affect performance.

· Any other duties as relevant to IT support.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, as the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the Credit Union.

What we are looking for

· Minimum of 2 years of hands-on IT support experience, with working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Sharepoint Administration, Microsoft 365 administration.

· Strong troubleshooting skills and a practical mindset.

· Good communication skills – able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users

· Good documentation skills

· Knowledge of endpoint security, antivirus solutions and backup systems.

· A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

· Hands-on experience, professional IT certifications, or formal education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

· Full clean Driving Licence and access to your own transport, (travel between branches is required).

· Credit Union support experience would be desirable.

· Excellent administrative, organisational and support skills. Ability to prioritise issues and escalate accordingly.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

· Empathy with the ethos and values of the Credit Union is desirable.

Role suitability

This role would particularly suit someone who:

¨ Is currently working in IT support (e.g. MSP or internal helpdesk) and wants a more stable, long-term role in finance.

¨ Enjoys a mix of hands-on support and project work.

¨ Is comfortable working independently but as part of a small team.

¨ Wants to build experience across infrastructure, systems, and security.

¨ Is based locally or within commuting distance of our branches.

Candidates should be suitably qualified, having obtained or be studying towards a recognised qualification in financial services or another comparable qualification and have at least two years relevant IT support
experience in a comparable customer focused organisation.

The appointment will be at Grade IV on the salary scale as operated by North Midlands Credit Union.
