Laboratory Assistant

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Location: Ireland, Dublin

Functions and Responsibilities

  • Receive, route, distribute, and store biological specimens for Flow Cytometry testing.
  • Perform basic sample processing and preparation of biological specimens for analysis.
  • Conduct reagent lot-to-lot (LTL) acceptance testing and maintain associated documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels, maintain inventory records, and initiate orders for laboratory reagents and consumables.
  • Support specimen storage, retention, rotation, and disposal activities in accordance with laboratory procedures.
  • Perform and document routine laboratory and instrument maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor pending worklists and assist with sample tracking, retrieval, and resolution of specimen discrepancies.
  • Code, process, and route departmental invoices for approval and payment.
  • Participate in required training, continuous professional education programs, and departmental meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, Immunology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • Previous academic, internship, or laboratory experience handling biological specimens is preferred.
