Warehouse Operative

Balkania International Foods

Location: Sanguine House, Huntstown Business Park, Cappagh Road, Dublin 11, D11 T9TF

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive salary, reviewed based on experience

Balkania International Foods is a leading wholesale importer and distributor of frozen and dry goods, supplying Indian, Asian and Balkan communities across Ireland. Due to continued growth, we are recruiting Warehouse Operatives to join our busy distribution centre in Dublin 11.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock
  • Accurate order picking and preparation for despatch
  • Safe loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
  • Recording stock receipts and updates on our warehouse system to maintain accurate inventory
  • Ensuring all received stock is undamaged and matches the order
  • Monitoring stock levels and keeping inventory well organised
  • Maintaining cleanliness and food-safety standards (HACCP) throughout the warehouse
  • Informing your supervisor of any stock discrepancies or non-conformances
  • Keeping the warehouse and yard tidy, safe and well organised

Hours of Work

  • Full-time, flexible/shift-based rota, including some weekends
  • Permanent, long-term position

Qualifications and Skills

  • Enthusiastic, flexible, quick learner with strong attention to detail
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or food distribution environment preferred but not essential
  • Working knowledge of English (spoken and written)
  • Forklift licence desirable (training available for the right candidate)
  • Comfortable using computer/warehouse management systems
  • Clear and effective communication, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good timekeeper with a reliable attendance record
  • Awareness of health and safety responsibilities in a warehouse environment
