Full job description
Hamilton Life Care is currently recruiting experienced Direct Support Workers to join our residential disability service.
This role involves supporting young adults with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory disabilities, and, in some cases, behaviours of concern and/or mental health support needs.
We are looking for caring, professional and reliable individuals who have experience supporting people in a disability, social care, residential care, or healthcare setting.
About the Role
As a Direct Support Worker, you will support residents with daily living, personal care, social inclusion, community access, routines, independence, wellbeing and personal goals.
You will work as part of a supportive team and help provide a safe, respectful and homely environment where residents are treated with dignity, kindness and respect.
The role may include but not limited to supporting residents with:
- Personal care and daily living skills
- Community activities and social inclusion
- Communication and emotional wellbeing
- Positive behaviour support
- Household routines and meaningful activities
- Care plans, support plans and documentation
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in disability services, social care, residential care, healthcare or a similar support role
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, physical or sensory disabilities, behaviours of concern or mental health support needs
- A calm, respectful and person-centred approach
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Permission to work in Ireland
Desirable:
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, Social Care, Intellectual Disability Practice or equivalent
- Experience in a residential service enviroment
- Familiar with/have been trained in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
