Air Freight Supervisor

A leading global freight forwarding organisation is seeking an experienced Air Export Operational Supervisor to join its established operation in Shannon.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a highly respected international logistics business, where you'll oversee the day-to-day Air Export operation, support and develop an experienced team, and help drive operational excellence.

The Opportunity

You'll take responsibility for the daily performance of a well-established Air Export department, coordinating workloads, supporting operational staff and ensuring customer expectations, service levels and operational KPIs are consistently achieved.

Working closely with senior management, you'll act as the first point of escalation for operational issues, identify opportunities to improve processes and help develop a high-performing team capable of delivering exceptional customer service.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll remain close to the operation while helping shape its continued success.

The Role

• Lead the day-to-day Air Export operation, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Allocate workloads across the team to maximise productivity and customer service.
• Prioritise urgent shipments and customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Monitor operational KPIs, service levels and departmental performance.
• Support, coach and develop team members through training and mentoring.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational and customer service issues.
• Ensure export documentation and procedures remain fully compliant.
• Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Identify process improvements, commercial opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Support planning for holidays, absence cover and peak trading periods.
• Provide regular operational updates and performance feedback to management.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum two years' experience within Air Freight operations.
• Strong understanding of Air Export processes and documentation.
• Previous supervisory, team leader or senior operational experience.
• Excellent knowledge of international import and export procedures.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Commercial awareness and a customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Confident making operational decisions in a fast-moving environment.
