Independent College, established in 2007, is a private third-level institution located in the heart of Dublin’s business and tech district. It offers QQI-validated undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a strong focus on Business, Accounting, Finance, and Law.

The College is currently inviting applications for a full-time lecturer position in Accounting and Finance for the academic year starting August 2026.

The key functions of these positions are to teach Accounting, Finance and Economics on a range of college programmes, prepare assessments and grades, and develop curriculum and programme-related materials at undergraduate level.

Indicative Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Accounting, Finance and Economics across undergraduate programmes within the School of Business.
  • Design, prepare, and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and other learning activities in alignment with institutional policies and quality standards.
  • Supervise undergraduate student research projects and provide appropriate academic guidance.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance subject expertise and teaching effectiveness.
  • Innovate in teaching practice through the integration of digital tools, blended learning approaches, and inclusive pedagogies.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and review of new and existing programmes, ensuring alignment with academic standards and evolving industry requirements.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • A Level 10 research degree (PhD or DBA) in Accounting, Finance or Economics;

or

  • A Level 9 master’s degree (MBA/MSc/MA) in Accounting, Finance or Economics with relevant professional and lecturing experience; and/or
  • Full professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or AIA) with lecturing experience.

In addition, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Strong digital literacy, including proficiency in virtual learning environments (e.g., Moodle) and educational technologies.
  • A proactive and self-directed approach, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and active engagement with the wider academic and professional community.

Applicants should have knowledge and lecture experience to teach modules in the following areas:

  • Finance for Business
  • Economics
  • Managerial Economics
  • Financial Econometrics
  • Research Methods in Accounting, Finance and Economics

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term

Pay: From €60,000.00 per year
