Job Title: Yard Hand (Full-Time)

Location: Kilcloon, Co. Meath
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Company overview

ATACS was founded in 2020 with a clear ambition: to breed top-class show jumping horses that can compete at national and international.

To date, the day-to-day running of the operation has been managed directly by the company owners. As our stock and workload have grown, we are now at the point where building a dedicated team is essential to support the next phase of our development.

Our focus is now shifting toward producing and training these horses to compete at the highest level of show jumping. We are seeking hardworking, motivated individuals who want to develop their skills and grow within a, performance-driven show jumping environment.

Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable, experienced Yard Hand to manage day-to-day yard operations, general maintenance, and horse care. This is a hands-on role suited to someone practical, dependable, and comfortable working independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily yard duties including mucking out, feeding, bedding, and general upkeep
  • Handling, grooming, and caring for horses safely and confidently
  • Riding and training horses where required (if trained )
  • Assisting with turnout, stabling, and basic horse health monitoring
  • General property maintenance work
  • Operating vehicles, towing trailers, and transporting horses as required
  • Operating tractors and other machinery when required
  • Maintaining a tidy, organised, and safe yard environment
  • Following instructions but also using initiative when working alone

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in yard work and horse handling (non-negotiable)
  • Confident rider with proven riding experience
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Full trailer licence
  • Physically fit and capable of manual work in all weather
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
  • Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and flexible hours when required
  • Experience transporting horses

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Experience with private yards or competition yards
  • Basic maintenance or handyman skills
  • Experience with machinery such as tractors and small diggers
