Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Junior Procurement Engineer to join our project team in Leixlip.

The Junior Procurement Engineer will support the procurement function within an M&E contracting environment, assisting in sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of mechanical and electrical components for projects. The role will suit a motivated engineering graduate looking to develop a career in procurement within the construction sector.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in sourcing and procuring mechanical and electrical materials, equipment, and services.

  • Support preparation of enquiries, requests for quotations (RFQs), and tender documentation.

  • Evaluate supplier quotations and assist in commercial and technical comparisons.

  • Liaise with project teams (engineering, design, and site teams) to understand procurement requirements.

  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery in line with project schedules.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

  • Support supplier negotiations under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.

  • Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and health & safety requirements.


Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Relevant Level 7 degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or similar)

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Eagerness to learn and develop within procurement and construction
