Full job description

The School Food Company prepares fresh, healthy lunches cooked daily in onsite school kitchens. We are recruiting handson Catering Assistants who enjoy preparing fresh food and working in a busy canteen environment.


We are currently recruiting for our canteens in Davis College, Mallow and Colaiste Pobail Naomh Mhuire, Buttevant, Co. Cork


Davis College:

Full Time: 28-32 hours per week Monday to Friday Shift time: Approx 7.30/8.00am -2.30pm

Part-Time: 10-15 hrs/week, 2day / 3day rotating roster. Shift time: Approx 7.30/8.00am -2.30pm


Colaiste Pobail Naomh Mhuire:

Part-Time: 10-15 hrs/week, 2day / 3day rotating roster. Shift time: Approx 8.00am -2.00pm. Half day every Wednesday

Termtime only


About the Role

  • Cooking from scratch: peeling, chopping, prepping, and cooking fresh ingredients (no raw meat handled)
  • Supporting daily kitchen operations in a fastpaced environment
  • Serving students from the canteen, including food service and cash/card handling
  • Endofday clean down
  • Maintaining high HACCP food safety and hygiene standards

Who This Suits

  • Someone who enjoys cooking and working on their feet
  • Someone available Monday-Friday with flexibility for the rotating roster
  • Not suitable for those with fixed weekday commitments or parttime education

Requirements

  • Willingness to move between schools within a 30minute drive when needed
  • Garda Vetting and Child Protection Course required
  • Catering or homecooking experience an advantage; a positive attitude is essential
