Full job description

We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team in the Yarn Cafe based in Bruff (30 min drive from Limerick City). Working alongside our full-time Chef, you will play an important role in preparing fresh food, baking daily pastries, and supporting our breakfast and lunch service.

This is a daytime position with no evening shifts, offering an excellent work-life balance.

Hours

  • Minimum 32.5 hours per week
  • Wednesday to Sunday
  • Daytime shifts only – no evenings

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients for breakfast and lunch service.
  • Bake and prepare fresh pastries and baked goods
  • Assist the Chef with food preparation and service during busy periods.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.
  • Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
  • Assist with stock rotation and general kitchen duties as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working in a busy commercial kitchen is essential.
  • Experience preparing fresh baked goods such as scones, brown bread, and similar items.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent timekeeping.
  • High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
  • A team player who is willing to support colleagues when needed.
  • Have own transport and ability to get to Bruff Co Limerick, V35 NV32.
