Full job description

We are recruiting for a Quality Controller to join our team in Oakpark Foods, Clonmel.

Schedule: 8 Hour Shift, Monday - Friday

Oakpark Foods is a leading producer of retail turkey, pork and bacon products for the Irish and UK markets. We have two best in class production facilities, one in Clonmel and one in Cahir, Co. Tipperary.

We are a family-owned business which operates to the highest international standards of food production.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Apply quality standards and audits to maintain accreditation on site
  • Ensure the Food Safety HACCP plan is adhered to at all times
  • Ensure in-house processes and procedures guarantee that product is produced to specification
  • Raw material intake assessment against specification
  • Carry out microbiological and chemical sampling of product and environment for analysis by external lab. Ensure results are meeting set standards.
  • Ensure all customer feedback and complaints are addressed
  • All non - conformances to be dealt with adequately following internal processes to prevent future non – conformances.
  • To assist in compiling in-house and finished product specifications and procedures.
  • Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of internal and external standards (e.g. BRC, HACCP, Retailer Standards).
  • Ensure that the plant and factory is maintained at the highest level of hygiene.
  • To assist in operator training e.g. food safety and hygiene
  • Participate in site visits
