Job description:
Doyles Veg Prep was established by Bernard Doyle in 1998 and has since gone on to become one of Ireland's leading suppliers of fruit and veg. The company operates a six day delivery schedule with a fully refrigerated fleet of 20 vehicles and we adhere to a strict delivery schedule. We supply to a wide variety of customers including hotels, catering companies and some of Ireland’s best known bars and restaurants.
Due to our continuing growth we are looking to add a Quality Controller to our team.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with the inspection of all incoming goods, ensuring products meet quality standards and all goods-in documentation is completed accurately.
· Verify that all raw materials received comply with approved specifications.
· Record inspection findings, complete quality document, and prepare non-conformance reports where required.
· Perform food safety and quality checks, including metal detection, conductivity, and PH testing.
· Monitor the production floor and people to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and good Hygiene Practices.
· Monitor products throughout the production process to ensure they meet quality standards and specification requirements.
· Complete and maintain quality records in accordance with company procedures
· Review production quality records to ensure they are completed accurately and in full.
· Ensure full product traceability is maintained from raw material intake through to dispatch
· Verify that allergen control procedures are implemented and followed correctly.
· Verification of calibration of temperature probes and weight scales.
· Carry out of the positive release of finished products prior to dispatch
· Completion of glass & hard plastic audits
· Assist in completion of hygiene and fabrication audits
· Collation of hygiene samples and environmental swabs for laboratory testing.
· Assisting in root causing and corrective action of non-conformances.
· Assist in the implementation of new food safety/quality procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Essential
Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, BRCGS).
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent English
Basic computer skills.
- Desirable
Experience in fresh produce or vegetable processing.
Auditing experience.
