About

Yew Point at Hodson Bay is an exciting new design-led eco-tourism resort, set within an unspoiled natural landscape on the shores of Lough Ree, just outside Athlone. As part of the Hodson Bay Group, this landmark development represents a rare opportunity to join a founding team and help bring a truly distinctive guest experience to life.

Located on the scenic Yew Point peninsula, the resort will feature 36 luxury cabins, a restaurant and thoughtfully designed communal guest spaces across 140 acres of woodland, meadows and shoreline. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and exceptional service, Yew Point has been created to set a new standard for eco-conscious hospitality in Ireland.

This is a unique opportunity to develop your career, contribute to the resort's guest experience from the very beginning, and be part of a team committed to excellence, creativity and respect for both people and place.

The Role

We are seeking a practical, hardworking Landscaper to help shape, maintain and enhance the grounds at Yew Point.

This varied, hands-on role combines routine grounds maintenance with the opportunity to create attractive outdoor spaces around the cabins, guest areas and wider resort landscape.

Working alongside the Groundskeeper and Maintenance Manager, you will support both day-to-day upkeep and creative landscaping projects.

The role is responsible for ensuring gardens, grounds and outdoor facilities are clean, safe, well-presented and maintained to a high standard, helping to create a strong first impression for guests.

The successful candidate will work independently and as part of the team to support the overall presentation, safety and guest experience of the property.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain gardens, lawns, planting areas, pathways, entrances and outdoor guest spaces to a consistently high standard.

Carry out general landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, watering and seasonal upkeep.

Create and improve attractive outdoor areas around cabins, communal spaces and key guest locations.

Assist with natural landscape features such as planting beds, privacy screening, log walls and boulder features.

Maintain walking trails, lakeside areas, outdoor furniture, signage and decorative features.

Ensure all outdoor areas are clean, safe, well-presented and free from hazards.

Apply fertilisers, weed control and other treatments safely and appropriately, where required.

Operate, clean and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely.

Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns or areas requiring attention.

Support general property upkeep and landscaping projects in collaboration with the Maintenance and Grounds teams.

We Are Looking for Someone Who

Has previous experience in landscaping, gardening, horticulture or grounds maintenance.

Enjoys practical, hands-on outdoor work and is physically able to carry out manual tasks.

Has a good understanding of plants, lawn care and general garden maintenance.

Takes pride in maintaining high standards and has strong attention to detail.

Has a creative eye for outdoor spaces, landscaping and natural design features.

Can work well independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.

Is reliable, adaptable, motivated and able to manage daily tasks effectively.

Has a basic understanding of health and safety practices in an outdoor working environment.
