The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Secretary to join our team at our Mary Street offices. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who thrives in a supportive, team-oriented setting and wants to be part of a firm with a strong track record of stability and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors across a range of practice areas
- Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal correspondence, documents, and precedents
- Audio and copy typing of legal documents
- Managing diaries, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings
- Opening, maintaining, and closing client files in line with firm procedures
- Liaising professionally with clients, other solicitors, courts, and third parties by phone, email, and in person
- Handling incoming post and correspondence, and managing outgoing document preparation
- Assisting with billing, file management, and general office administration
- Supporting colleagues across the team as workload requires, reflecting our collaborative approach to work
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a legal secretary is desirable, though candidates with strong general secretarial/administrative experience will also be considered
- Excellent typing, IT, and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure
- A professional, courteous manner with clients and colleagues
- A genuine team player who enjoys contributing to a positive, cooperative office environment
